Update on ME!

Hello Everyone. It's been awhile since the last time I was on here (almost one month). Life has been really busy for me. All good of course.

*On April 25, it was my mom's birthday. Her second birthday away from us. We all went to her resting place and had a birthday cake with her. All the kids were there together to wish her the best. It seemed so unreal, but yet I was happy for her. Happy to know that she is no longer suffering anymore. She was now able to enjoy a birthday free from pain. She can eat and enjoy the taste of food.

*Spring semester is OVER! Yippie! I was having such a hard time towards the end of the semester. It was all the homework that was due that was killing me. Thank God it's over! I did manage to get a "A" in both classes. So far my graduate course work has been a perfect scoring of "A's"!!!! (Not trying to brag, just very proud). I am planning to take the summer off to enjoy time with my kids.

*Did my SIL's babyshower. I thought it turned out really good. I didn't take a many pictures as I had wanted to. The one thing I was especially proud of was the diaper cake that I made for her.

*I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Lor, Nancy, Kerri, Mina, and myself went and did the 5k Race for the Cure walk at the MOA. It was so much fun! I can't believe how much fun I had. Even though it was so early in the morning, the energy and vibe that you got from everyone there was great. The vendors had some wonderful things as well. We walked the 5k in 1.5 hours! I recommend everyone to take part in it. Here are a few photos from the walk:

Like I said earlier, I recommend you to do it. I am going to be doing it again, so keep your interest in mind for next year. My goal for next year is to have a team.

*Outside of the walk, Mother's Day was spent with the family. Dinner with my SIL and her kids, my kids, hubs, and my MIL. Of course we went to eat at a chinese buffet, as it was easiest with a lot of people. We initially went to the Grand Buffet in West St. Paul, but there was too long of a wait. So we went to another buffet. The food was the typical buffet food, but it wasn't that good. It was okay, but I guess you can't expect too much for buffet food. However, being a mother is the best thing ever. I LOVE BEING A MOTHER!!!!! The experience of being a mother is like no other experience that you can ever gain. I just hope that every women who wants to be a mother can experience the same joy and happiness that I found with Matthew and Sydney!!! Again, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in this world!

Treasured Memories...

Today marks one year since her passing. I can't believe that its already been one year. I miss my mother so much, no other words can explain how much I miss her.

On January 25, 2007, I called my mother to ask her how you can tell if your water broke. I remember her exact words. "If you hear BLOH (dropping noise)!" Of course I had no idea what that meant but I knew that she was going make sure that I was okay. She made sure that I had nothing to worry about and then she immediately had my dad call Xai to come home and take me to the hospital. She was always making sure that no matter what happens-- I would be fine and safe.

I remember when I got a new job at Employers Association and I called to tell her she said, "Make sure that you work hard and don't hop from job to job. Otherwise if you do they will not want you." I am so thankful for her advice as I did work hard and stuck through it and now I got a good job and a good company to work for. I only hope with her advice I can continue to grow within my career and be successful as a employee but most importantly as a mother.

With that said, I thank her for so much. I am thankful that she set a wonderful example of how a perfect mother should be. How to be patient with everyone around you. How to love others despite their their blemishes and the hatred they had towards you. She truly was an amazing women. She worked hard to make sure her kids were safe and fine to the end. Even when she was so frail and unable to do anything...she still made sure that we would be okay.

To my MOM:

Wish you were here to see your grandkids. Wish you were here to hear my success stories. Wish you were here to be proud of me as I follow in your footsteps!Mom, I miss you and I hope you know that you are always on my mind. I also hope that you like the beautiful white roses that I bought you today. Miss you much!!!

SO SICK...SO SICK...EVERYONE IS SOOOOOO SICK! Just when I thought I was getting better- it gets worse. My cough still has not gone away but also I now have a running nose. I hate the winter season! UGH! In addition to my sickness, my hubs was ill for a couple of days too (he is better now). Both my kids are sick now. Especially Matthew. He's got a high fever and ugly cough. He had a high temp of 102today. It's so hard to see how weak and unplayful he is when he is usually so energized and 24-7 talking non-stop. Sydney has a cough and runny nose. I am hoping that she doesn't get a high fever. Of course there is no stopping to Sydney so she was still as playful as she normally is. Hopefully everyone is staying warm and healthy.
